July 24th is time for everyone to give a little bit of self-love! International Self-Care Day (ISD) is a worldwide campaign that began in the UK with the objective to celebrate and encourage the public to practice responsible self-care.
Every year ISD is observed on July 24 to serve as a reminder that the benefits of self-care are lifelong, and can be experienced 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
A portion of the tickets sales benefits Rose Haven, a day shelter and community center in Portland serving more than 3,300 women and children annually who are experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and poverty.
Three local women authors share their unique experiences of trauma turned into empowerment.
Javelin Hardy, “The Girl Inside Me”
Cinda Stevens Lonsway, “I Know Now”
Angel Charmaine, “Speak with Chic, One Woman. Ten Truths”
