My Bio

Della Rae is the founder of DonorsResource.org, an online nonprofit organization that connects individuals and businesses who want to give in-kind donations “stuff” with nonprofits in need.

With more than eleven years in the insurance and finance industry, her passion to work in the nonprofit sector began with serving more than three years on the board of the North Portland Nurse Practitioners Clinic and becoming president of its board.

In 2005, Della realized the magnitude of poverty in the Portland area and co-founded Sisters of the Community (SOC) with her sister, Deborah Waggoner.  After distributing more than 20,000 items within 18 months, the need for an online solution was realized and launched.

April of 2007, Della formed DonorsResource.org, a registered trademark of Sisters of the Community.   In 11 months, over 240 nonprofits registered and 7,007 items were claimed.

June of 2009, Della formed TimeandStuff.org, also a registered trademark of Sisters of the community and an online collaboration with HandsOn Greater Portland, a local affiliate of a national nonprofit organization.

March of 2011, Della created a innovative youth learning project where students of Riverdale High School take on leadership roles from marketing to web development at DonorsResource.org to experience real life outcomes.

Della’s professional awards include 2007 Regence BlueCross BlueShield Hero Award, 2008 Portland Business Journal 40 under 40 Award, 2008 SAFECO Foundation National Hero Award, 2009 Delta Sigma Theta’s Woman of Excellence Community Service Award and, 2009 Symetra Community Champion Award.
