My work began when I co-founded, with my sister Deborah, the non-profit organization, Sisters of the Community (SOC), a cause that connected people who wanted to donate household goods with those in need. Our first year of operation we distributed over 18 thousand items to families (SOC is no longer present in Oregon).
To this day I remain humbled by the accolades received that range from the Safeco Foundation National Hero Award, Portland Business Journal 40 under 40 Award, the Delta Sigma Theta Woman of Excellence Award and the Symetra Community Champion Award to the Association of Fundraising Professionals Outstanding Innovative Project Award.
I was also recognized as a local hero in the national magazine publication, Family Circle. A significant portion of my professional background also includes driving culture and human resources management.
